Alright SQueens, it’s time for one of the most exciting announcements I’ve ever had the pleasure to make!
So here’s what’s been going on:
A little over a month ago I received an email from Leks (androidiva) with an incredible idea for a project that immediately caught my attention. I knew it would take a lot of hard work and dedication but, if we succeed, I’m certain that the outcome will be groundbreaking both in terms of LGBTQ+ representation in the media and also how our fandom is perceived.
I know a lot of you have been noticing how Swan Queen is a subject that’s never adressed in interviews with A&E, and I know you’ve been asking me to somehow help you change this… So this is it. This project might just be what puts us in the spotlight in terms of finally getting the recognition and respect we deserve.
Okay, okay, I’ve kept you waiting long enough, so now I can only hope you see as much potential in this as I do.
So here goes;
The idea is to make a Swan Queen Movement documentary!
Me and the rest of our film crew would travel to several different countries in order to interview you guys! We have about 5-6 people working toward this project and we’ve spent the last month doing research for equipment, legalities and etc. Basically, we’ve been working to figure out everything we would need in order to make this happen.
We feel that this documentary could be a big eye-opener and insight into the change that is happening in the world of representation, social media/social activism, and fandoms.
I really do think this is the step forward our fandom needs. We need positivity, we need something that will keep us together and hopeful for better things to come. In other words, we really do need to be the positive change we want to see in the world. And this is the perfect project to really show our true colors.
Anyway, after everything is settled, we’re going to start an Indiegogo account to raise the necessary funds, but for now, what we really need is people interested in being interviewed!
Our crew will be divided in two, one part would cover the US/Canada and the other will cover Europe.
We need to know how many people would be interested and where they’re from in order to get this thing going.
The interview would cover several topics related to Swan Queen, LGBTQ+ representation, negative experiences you’ve had by shipping Swan Queen, etc. We really want to include a lot of diversity in the documentary because we know there are so many different people with so many different sexual orientations and gender identities within our fandom, we want to show the rest of the world how our differences keep us together as a group.
We already have a name settled: Swan Queen Movement: A Fandom’s Fight For Change
And a logo is also in the works.
So that’s it! This is the project me and Leks have been very excitedly working on. We are also trying to figure out a way of being able to interview Lana, Jennifer, Adam, Eddy, Joshua and Florian.
I hope you’re as eager as we are, and I really do hope all of you guys understand how revolutionary this can actually be because we’re the most dedicated fandom I’ve ever seen and we can accomplish anything we set our minds to.
Now, if you’re interested in being interviewed for the Swan Queen Movement Documentary or would like to know more about this project before deciding to participate, send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org with “Swan Queen Movement Documentary” as the Subject and state that you are interested or that you would like more information.
I will then send you a small form for you to fill out containing only a few questions (where do you live, how old are you, have you had any negative experiences by shipping Swan Queen, etc).
Keep in mind that after everyone applies, we will figure out the countries with more people interested and those will be the ones chosen for us to travel to.
Thank you so much for your patience and for your time! As always, if you want to discuss anything you can send me a message.
If you have any questions concerning this project, if you’ve been getting hate for being a part and/or supporting this movement, or if you would like to join us, you can contact me here.
